Kiko Haul

The other day I went Christmas shopping, but obviously I had to pick up a few bits for myself too just to be fair, so I popped into Kiko as it had just opened. They are an Italian cosmetics brand that are of high quality but affordable prices. I, of course, had to pick up five products.

I think the packaging looks really smart and professional, similar to that of MAC.

'Soft Light Powder' in 02

As I have quite oily skin, I like to try out all the different types of powders from all brands so this was a must to pick up! I got 02, as 01 looked incredibly light and so in pictures would make me look like even more of a ghost. This was £11.90, but there is quite a lot of product.

'Bronzer Powder' in 104

The only other bronzer I have is from my Sleek palette, and it is quite dark for my skin tone, so not really day time appropriate, so I picked the lightest non-glittery one they had to try. This was £9.90.

'Full Coverage Concealer' in 01

This reminds me of the Bobbi Brown concealer, but at a much cheaper price. It looks much more orange in the picture than in person. I also hopefully will use less product as it has more coverage, probably saving money in the process. This was £7.50.

'Velvet Mat Lipstick' in 614

I picked up this dark berry lipstick purely to see if I would suit it, before I get Charlotte Tilbury 'Glastonberry'. It was £6.90.

'Long Lasting Stick' in 25

This light taupe colour really stuck out to me as being a really good base colour for powder eyeshadows on top. It also claims to last eight hours, so could be good for long makeup days too. This was £6.90.

Have you tried any Kiko products?

Advent Calendars

I know that I am a bit late, but as it is December tomorrow (finally!), I thought that a post on advent calendars would be perfectly festive! As some of you may know, beauty advent calendars are on the rise and so I have not been able to resist and bought three! These are probably the most affordable ones, so if you are on a budget like me you may be able to get them too, and we can share in the Christmas excitement! It's like a present to yourself!

No 7 '25 Days of Beauty Wonders'

This is the most expensive at £38, but the overall price of the product is actually £148 so it is quite the bargain! I also split the price half way with my mum as we are gonna share it because she likes skincare and I like makeup and this has got both. All of the boxes are quite large so you can tell that the products inside are of a decent size, which is also good value for money.

Yankee Candle

This is £20, the cheapest of the bunch, which I think is a really good price as you get 24 tea light candles, all with different Christmassy scents, and a votive candle too for an extra treat, which would normally be a lot more money buying them individually. I am addicted to candles, especially from Yankee Candle as the scent payoff is so good! In the autumn and winter months, as soon as I get home and it is dark, I light candles, and it instantly makes my house so much cosier. I will definitely use this advent calendar every day.

Tanya Burr 'Deck The Hauls'

This advent calendar is by the beautiful Youtuber Tanya Burr and is £25. If you don't know who she is, I would highly suggest that you watch her videos as she is a marvel to watch and amazingly skilled at makeup! She recently came out with a makeup line, and this is her own advent calendar. The only draw back to this one is that it only goes up to 12 days, but I am just going to open it every other day as an extra little pick me up. This could also mean that the products inside are possibly bigger, meaning more value for money again.

I am now extremely excited for these cold mornings throughout December coming up! If you would like me to tell you my thoughts after Christmas of these advent calendars for next year, just let me know!

Have you bought any advent calendars?

August Favourites

I have not done a monthly favourites since April, so I figured I'd do another one for the month of August.

Favourite Make-Up Product

This lipstick by No 7 is in the shade 'Lovely'. This has been a great lipstick for all of the summer months really as I enjoy lighter makeup in summer as it is (only slightly) hotter and this lipstick feels like a moisturising lip balm. It is quite a similar colour to the shade of my actual lips as well so it looks quite natural.

Favourite Beauty Product

This perfume from Soap and Glory called 'Mist You Madly'. Again with the lighter for summer theme, this perfume has a slight floral scent which is very refreshing.

Favourite Fashion Item

These grey patterned slip on shoes from Penneys, which is the Irish version of Primark which I got for €8 which is about £6 - an absolute bargain! I've been seeing these style of shoes for ages and really wanted some, but they were all incredibly expensive but after buying these, I think that I will invest and spend the money on more pairs as they are very comfortable but also look very stylish.

Favourite Book

'The Secrets Of The Notebook' by Eve Haas is a true story based on her life. It is set around the themes of Hitler and Nazi Germany and how it impacted her and her family's life as she discovers family secrets from an old diary that uncovers her true heritage, but to find out the exact information she has to undertake a dangerous journey. This part of history really fascinates me and so this book was incredibly interesting to me.

Favourite Item

This candle holder from Yankee Candle is in a very pretty design of a flower with a butterfly. When a candle is burnt inside of it, the light shines through the holes in the pattern to leave a pretty pattern around you as well and creates a great atmosphere. This is a perfect accompaniment to a relaxing bath with music playing.

Favourite TV Show

Dance Moms is the show for me this month. I have been binge watching the episodes and I love it! It is on Lifetime here in the UK. Sometimes it does make me cringe with how Abby treats her students, but the dancing standard is so high and the kids are so cute and the Moms are so dedicated that I just get fascinated and can't look away.

Favourite Youtuber

This month I have been loving Niomi Smart. She has one million subscribers and she is such a joy to watch! She has the most amazing work out ethic and she eats super healthily which is a big motivation. She also certainly knows her stuff about fashion so if you enjoy watching videos like that then give her a watch.

Favourite Songs

How Deep Is Your Love by Calvin Harris and Black Magic by Little Mix

Urban Decay 'Naked' Review

During my recent trip through Dublin Airport's duty free section (heaven) I used up all of my remaining euro's buying the Urban Decay 'Naked' Palette. It was €41 which converts to around £32 which means that I have saved £7 from Debenham's price of £39 so I just couldn't say no.

You have all by now probably either heard of or seen pictures of this palette but it is a palette with basically any shade you would ever need.

You can do a range of looks with this shade selection varying from everyday to full on glam.

Natural: Virgin and Naked
Pastel Pinks: Sin, Toasted and Naked
Vampy Pinks: Toasted, Hustle and Buck
Golds: Half-Baked, Smog and Buck
Bronze: Side Car and Hustle
Silvers: Gunmetal and Creep
Edgy: Darkhorse and Creep

The colour pay off is excellent and the brushes are exquisite and so easy to use.

Have you got this eyeshadow palette?

New Mascara Find

Maybelline - 'Lash Sensational Mascara' £7.99
MAC - 'Opulash Optimum Black Mascara' £15

Recently, I have been pairing these mascaras together as the Maybelline one is beginning to run out and I have realised that this combination is the perfect choice for my eyelashes! The MAC mascara is  designed to lengthen the lashes and the Maybelline mascara holds a curl really well so the two together just do an amazing job at really defining my eye lashes. My eye lashes are poker straight so getting them to still hold a curl even after twelve hours is a real challenge, which this combo manages to succeed. They're both quite reasonably priced too which is a bonus!

Kos 2015

I have just got back from a week long trip to Kos with my best friend and thought that I would put up a selection of my favourite photos from the trip to show you what the beautiful Greek island looks like in case you feel inspired and book a trip there! My week was very energetic and exciting as we packed our time full of cute and informative day trips such as; a volcanic tour, a cruise for a day, a spa trip, shopping, renting a quad bike, a beach day and a waterpark!

I also have other photos on my instagram if you would like to check them out and feel free to leave any questions as comments.

Beauty Wish List

1 - 'By Terry Ombré Blackstar in Bronze Moon' £29: This is a beautiful cream eyeshadow in a pen applicator which claims to be long lasting. My personal favourite shade from swatches I've seen is the bronze shade but their other shades are also incredibly wearable.

2 - 'ZOEVA Rose Golden Luxury Set' £65: This makeup brush set consists of; a powder brush, a foundation brush, a cream product brush, a blush brush, a concealer brush, eyeshadow brush, a crease brush and an eyeliner brush - the perfect collection!

3 - 'Urban Decay NAKED Palette' £38: This infamous eyeshadow palette consists of twelve shades ranging in colour, but mostly gold toned and they vary between glitter and matte.

4 - 'Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush Palette' £56: This blush palette consists of three shades with multi-dimensional colours that seems like a highlighter also.

5 - 'NARS Radiant Creamy Concealer' £22: This hydrating concealer gives medium to high coverage and comes in ten shades.

6 - Marc Jacobs Dot Perfume 50ml' £49.50: I really want to own all of the Marc Jacobs as I think that they all smell wonderful and so this jasmine and vanilla based scent is next on my list. Their bottles are all so detailed too.

7 - 'Shu Uemura Eyelash Curlers' £20: This is the most raved about eyelash curler and I have poker straight eyelashes, so a good eyelash curler is a must for me.

What is on your beauty wish list?

My Lipstick Collection

For this blog post I thought that I would share with you my 'Lipstick Collection'. It is not the best collection but I quite like it and most of it is from Boots so is quite affordable, although recent purchases are starting to higher the quality which will hopefully continue.

'Pink Lemonade' by Revlon
This is not my favourite in my collection as it is probably not a good shade for my skin tone as I am quite pale. It is also sheer which is slightly annoying as it can look like I have just accidentally got concealer on my lips, but if you have slightly darker skin it could look nicer. I do sometimes use it for a nude lip though if I have gone a bit heavier with eyeshadow and it is quite moisturising.

'Peach Parfait' by Revlon
Contrary to what I said about the previous lipstick, I love this shade! It is a pink without being too obvious so could still be a nude option but it has slight flecks of gold which shimmer in the light giving the lipstick a different effect to others. This is my second tube as I use it so often!

'Parisian Passion' by Revlon
This is more of a stain than a lipstick that is a deep purple with red undertones. The fact that it is a stain makes it more wearable though as it looks slightly more natural as it coincides with your natural lip colour and lasts a long time.

'Lovely' by No 7
I originally bought this lipstick for my mum but she didn't want it (rude) so I got to keep it (bonus) and it is a natural, quite sheer lipstick so I have used it quite a lot as it works with every makeup look and this is also my second tube.

'Nude-Ist' by Bourjois
This is a matte dark pink which slightly adapts to your own lip colour, making it appear more natural than it  how it looks swatched on my hand. I wear this quite often as well and it is easier than I thought to apply.

'Frambourjoise' by Bourjois
I actually haven't used this yet but I bought it because I loved the previous lipstick so much that I want to try out more shades, so I went for something more bold which is not my usual colour but I will tell you more about it when I have used it.

'Appechissant' by Bourjois
I have worn this once and I did not like the formula of this lipstick as much as the matte lipsticks above but only because it was more sheer than I expected. Taking away my expectations, it is a nice lipstick with a hint of baby pink.

'Dusky Rose' by 17
This was one of my first lipsticks and I still like it today as it is a very lovely pink which I tend to tap on to my lips rather than wipe to create a more natural effect as it quite obvious (if you even understand what I mean?)

'05' by Rimmel
I haven't tried this lipstick either but the swatch excites me so I will get back to you on it.

'107' by Rimmel
This is my only red lipstick and I bought it because Zoe Sugg stated that it is one of her favourite lipsticks. That was a long time ago and I still use it and it I love it. It suits any skin shade and is darker than a neon red so more wearable.

'Raisin' by Max Factor
Honestly, I bought this lipstick because it was similar to my name. Shallow I know, but it turns out that it is a great lipstick! It is a pink and doesn't look that different to my other lipsticks but it almost has brown undertones which sounds weird but makes my teeth look whiter which is a bonus too.

'Ravishing Rose' by Maybelline
This is a bright orange lipstick which I never liked before as a colour but I tried this particular one and it looks really nice and not as harsh as I thought! It is a great Spring into Summer shade and it is a shiny formula but stays on the lips for a really long time which was a nice surprise.

'Peach Poppy' by Maybelline
I haven't tried this lipstick yet but I heard that peach is a trend for this summer so I thought that I would try it out.

'Viva Glam II' by MAC
I have talked about this in more detail on my MAC Collection post a little while ago which you can read for more information about all the MAC lipsticks.

'Plumful' by MAC

'Creme De La Femme' by MAC

Which one do you like the most out of my collection and your collection?
