L'oreal 'Infallible 24H - Matte Foundation' Review

As you may have seen in my Boots makeup haul post a few days ago, here, I picked up a new foundation. The L'oreal Infallible 24H - Matte Foundation in the shade 10 Porcelain, which is the lightest shade.

L'oreal describe this foundation as waterproof, a medium texture, a high coverage and a matte finish.

Yesterday I tested it out, and these are just my views. It is sort of a cross between a first impressions and a review.  I should tell you, although you probably know, that I have oily skin especially on my forehead, nose and sometimes chin, which is why this foundation intrigued me. First of all, I have never worn foundation for twenty four hours before, nor do I plan to, so I haven't tested it that far. Yesterday I wore this foundation for about thirteen hours, from twelve o'clock lunchtime to one am. This is what it looked like when I first applied it.

I wasn't sure how it was going to apply, so I started with a light layer which was hardly even seen it was so light. I then applied another layer of the same size, and it instantly went quite full coverage. I don't know if it is because I used a sponge to apply it, or if I simply used too much, but for me there was no in between. I will keep trying it though to see if I can get the right consistency for me. I will say that I have a lot of redness, especially near and on my nose, and this foundation did cover it really quite well. To truly test just the foundation, I didn't put any concealer on except under my eyes, and only a really light dusting of powder on my T Zone, as I was going out. I then carried on with the rest of my makeup.

I kept everything else quite simple so that I could truly see the foundation. I checked my foundation at three o'clock, when I came back from shopping, and I was quite impressed. Rather than looking oily, my foundation looked quite dewy. I then just stayed at home until half six, when I was going to a family friend's house for the evening. I checked my makeup and honestly it still looked quite good, but as I am quite paranoid and I was going out, I put another light dusting of powder on. I then left my makeup bag at home, confident that my foundation would last and it definitely did. As it is quite a full coverage, or for me it was, I think that this would be the perfection foundation for going out, as I honestly didn't worry about having a shiny or oily face for the majority of the day.

The packaging I also like. It comes in a plastic, almost triangular shape, with an applicator that allows you to squeeze out exactly how much product you need. No wasted foundation left on your hand here! This is £7.99 so extremely affordable and honestly, it has really impressed me. I will be continuing to use this. I would say though that their shade range is quite poor, so definitely test them on your neck in store. If there was a lighter shade again, that would probably be perfect for me as this is quite a yellowy shade on me that can make me look quite orange.

Have you tried this foundation? Also leave me comments on products that you'd like me to review in future.
