The Body Shop 'Tea Tree' Range

At the beginning of the year, I bought a skincare gift set from The Body Shop, as one of my New Years Resolutions is to attempt to stick to a skincare routine and clear my skin. I have a couple of the face masks from this brand, and I think that they are really effective, so I wanted to look into more of their products. My favourite face mask at the moment is their Tea Tree Skin Clearing Clay Mask, so I looked for a set in the same range, which I found and bought, and am now going to share with you, in case you can still get it. I have only used some of the products a few times now, so I cannot really speak from experience yet, but who knows, if I like these products they might be featured in a favourites post soon.

This is the set all together. I got it for an amazing price - £25, when it is worth £38. It comes with five full size products, which are £5 each with this deal, which is such a bargain. The Tea Tree range combats oily skin and acne, as it has mattifying and skin clearing qualities, which is perfect for my skin type.

3-IN-1 Wash - Scrub - Mask (125ml)

This product can be used in three different ways, which intrigued me. To use it as a wash, daily, you wet your face with warm water, apply the wash and rub it in with circular motions until it foams up, and then rinse it off. To use it as a scrub, two to three times a week, you massage it gently onto damp skin, focusing on the t-zone, and then rinse it off. To use it as a mask, one to two times a week, you apply a thin layer onto a dry face and wait five to ten minutes for it to dry, and then rinse it off. I probably won't use it as a mask, as I already have the mask from the range, but it is good that this product is so diverse as then you don't have to spend extra money on different products. I like to use this in the morning.

Skin Clearing Foaming Cleanser (150ml)

This product helps to remove make up, dirt and impurities from throughout the day, so I like to use this at night after I've taken my makeup off with either a wipe or micellar water, for an extra deep clean. You apply this onto your wet face and massage it in until it is lathered, and then rinse it off. This assures that my face is clean for the next few products.

Skin Clearing Mattifying Facial Toner (250ml)

This product is my favourite from this set so far. I use it after I have cleansed my face. I just pour it onto a cotton pad and sweep it over my face, focusing on my t-zone as that is where I get most oily. I can straight away feel it tingling, which is quite a nice sensation, and I think it does help to keep my face matte for longer. I use this at night and in the morning.

Mattifying Lotion (50ml)

This product is similar to a moisturiser. I apply it after I have toned my face, as it helps to control oil throughout the day. I use this only in the morning, before I start applying any makeup.

Night Lotion (30ml)

This product helps to prevent and treat acne overnight, so this is the last product I put on my face before bed, at night, to allow it the full time to sink in. I have noticed that this product really sinks into the skin quickly, which is different from other overnight treatments I've tried before which just sit on the skin, so I think this product will work for me.

Have you tried any products from this range?

What I Got For Christmas

For my first blog post of 2017 I decided to share the presents that I received for Christmas. I have been seeing these posts everywhere recently and they seem to be very popular so I thought that I would jump on the bandwagon. I am very grateful for my presents, and I am not trying to show off - this is just a way that I can give you gift inspiration for upcoming birthdays and remember what I got.

Make Up

First of all, this eyeshadow palette is so hard to photograph because its all mirrored! It is beautiful though, so we'll forgive it. This is the Charlotte Tilbury 'Golden Goddess' Eyeshadow Quad and it is such a luxurious product. I haven't used this particular quad yet, but I have a different one that is beautiful, so I am expecting good things.

I also got this beautiful and quite 'out there' palette. This is 'Moondust' by Urban Decay and I was actually surprised about this present, which is rare as my mum usually asks for a pretty detailed description of what I would like for Christmas. It has eyeshadow shades that aren't exactly natural, but I want to play around with makeup and use new colours. Also, 'granite' and 'lithium' are beautiful shades that I would use quite a lot.

I bought this foundation in Dublin Airport with the money I got from one of my aunties. I have wanted to try this foundation since it came out pretty recently. It's 'All Nighter' by Urban Decay, as you may have guessed by its name, its supposed to be long lasting which sounds good for me as I have oily skin.

If you are familiar with my blog, you may know that I have been blessed with poker straight eyelashes (can you feel the sarcasm?), so my mum got me some new eyelash curlers. These are by Shu Uemura, which are the most recommended ones by the youtubers I watch.

I got this lipstick from my brother and I had to take two pictures just so that you could see the shine reflecting from it. It is MAC 'Plum Dandy' and it is a beautiful purple/pink shade with gold glitter, making it look metallic. It is a really unusual shade, but I am excited to try it out.

This is a set of three mini lipsticks by Charlotte Tilbury that are just so cute and small. They are all matte, and come in the shades 'Amazing Grace', 'Red Carpet Red' and 'Very Victoria'. They are all very wearable shades and I can't wait to try them, although part of me doesn't want to because they're so cute.

This is a full sized lipstick from Charlotte Tilbury called 'Glastonberry'. My cousin has it, and it is a bold dark berry purple shade that I tried on once and liked. Not the most wearable, but I wanted it anyway of course.

My auntie got me this Charlotte Tilbury lipstick (sorry for the ongoing theme of CT) in 'Bond Girl' and I am obsessed. I have already worn it multiple times and it is a beautiful red shade with undertones of brown, so its more wearable than a bold red lip.

My mum saw this plaque in a cafe where we were eating on Christmas Eve Eve and just thought that it was perfect for me and then surprise, surprise, it turned up on Christmas Day under the tree.

I got this R light from my auntie as my two cousins have one with their initial and I have always wanted one so that is pretty cool.

My mum got me this as a little jokey present - it is a rose wine with four coasters with funny slogans.

Also from my mum, I got a mermaid colouring book and, as per tradition, the People's Friend album which is a book with a selection of short stories.

Again from my mum, I got a really cute makeup bag and a pom pom keychain so that I can now always find my keys in my bag.

What did you get for Christmas?
