Two of the foundations that I regularly use at the moment are from L'Oreal - True Match and Infallible 24 Hour Matte - so when I heard about L'Oreal's latest release, their Infallible Total Cover Foundation, I knew I had to try it.
This foundation promises to give a high coverage, with a matte finish. It has seven shades, and I bought the lightest one, 9 Light Sand. It is still slightly too dark for me, but nothing my whitening drops can't fix. It retails at £9.99, which I think is such good value for money, as this foundation will last a long time.
Yesterday I tested the foundation for the first time, during a trip to the cinema to see Get Out (weird but good film). I only wore it for a total of about six hours, so I haven't managed to test its wearability over a long period of time out yet, but I imagine that it is pretty good.
It definitely has a matte finish that is noticeable as soon as it is applied. You could probably even get away with not setting it, except I have oily skin so I always do anyway just for back up. Even though it is matte, it is easy to blend and it builds easily. It is definitely full coverage, but the texture is lightweight so it doesn't look cakey. It covers up redness and imperfections, but you can still see freckles and your skin underneath, giving it more of a slightly natural look, that isn't too much for a day to day basis.
I did not see a need to touch it up, and it looked just as good at the end of the night as it did when I first applied it. I will definitely keep using it and I would recommend it to almost everyone - it might not work for people with very dry skin as it does have the matte effect, but it is perfect for people with oily, combination or normal skin.
Have you tried this foundation?
