The Rose Gold Trend

Recently I have been obsessed with all things rose gold and light pink, so I thought that I would round up my favourite products that fall into this category and show them to you. They are a mixture of high end and high street, so this should cater to everyones price ranges.

1) To the left of my flat lay, just peeking in, is a pair of shoes from New Look. They are a rose gold pair of plimsolls with a snake print pattern. I cannot find the exact same pair on their website anymore, but there is a similar pair here.

2) I mentioned this product in my 'Sweat-Proof Makeup Look' post, but it is the L'Oreal Paris 'True Match Highlight' in Icy Glow. I love using this as a primer on days where I want to look more dewy and glowy, and it leaves a beautiful light pink shimmer on the skin.

3) I'm a sucker for the Urban Decay Naked Eyeshadow Palettes, and 'Naked 3' has the perfect selection of pink, rose gold and light bronze shades. This is my go-to palette for summer - my only wish is that it had a slightly darker matte brown shade, but I can usually find one in my other palettes as I'm a bit of an eyeshadow hoarder.

4) At the moment I've been loving a brighter pink lip, which is quite out of my comfort zone, and the one I've been reaching for the most has been Charlotte Tilbury 'Matte Revolution Lipstick' in Amazing Grace. It is a beautiful summery pink shade that is quite bright, but not too much for everyday wear.

5) The other lipstick I have been loving is the L'Oreal Paris 'Color Riche Gold Obsession' in CP36. It is a beautiful nude pink shade with gold shimmer running throughout. It's quite a subtle way of achieving a bold lip, especially when paired with gold eyeshadow to make the gold pop.

6) My go to blush has always been Soap & Glory 'Love At First Blush'. It's just such a natural looking rosy pink blush which has a lovely amount of shimmer reflecting off to help you achieve that glowy look that I love during the summer months.

7) I love accessorising with rose gold too, especially if I am wearing the shoes to help tie the outfit together. My only rose gold ring that I currently own is the Dazzling Daisy Band Ring from Pandora and I absolutely love it! If you want to find out more about my Pandora collection, I have a whole post here.

8) Again, carrying on with the accessories theme, I have a light pink bracelet from Accessorise which is just very simple so can be worn with a lot of things.

9) The easiest way to wear the rose gold trend is on your nails. Maybelline 'Super Stay 7 Days Gel Nail Color' in Rose Veil is perfect. This metallic rose gold nail varnish is beautiful - it dries quickly, also ticks the metallic trend, and lasts at least a week without chipping!

10) Another beautiful nail varnish that I mentioned in my 'June Favourites' post, that I would suggest you wear over another colour, is Essie 'A Cut Above'. It is a beautiful pink chunky glitter varnish.

What are your favourite rose gold products?

PS... 'Havana Complete Face Palette' First Impression

Primark has its own range of beauty products, but for someone who loves makeup and who also loves a good deal, I haven't actually tried any of it. However, recently one of my aunt's friends bought me a lovely present of a selection of makeup from Primark. One thing in this beautiful bundle was the 'Havana Complete Face Palette' which I fell in love with on first sight.

First of all, the packaging is a cardboard palette with a magnetic close. The one drawback of the packaging is that it doesn't come with a mirror, and the inside packaging can get quite grubby, but it is easily cleanable. I love the summery vibe from the tropical print though!

(with flash)

As you can see, the palette comes with four shades: highlight; bronze; blush; and contour. 'Highlight' is a beautiful light golden shade, perfect for any skin colour as an intense highlighter. 'Bronze' is a slightly darker golden shade, with slightly less pigmentation. I personally would use it as another highlighter as opposed to a bronzer, as I prefer a more matte bronzer. 'Blush' is a lovely matte baby pink shade which would again, suit any skin colour, and it can be built up to be as natural or as intense as you would like. 'Contour' is quite a dark brown matte contour shade, but used sparingly and blended out, it can work for all skin tones. It definitely has grey undertones, so it doesn't look orange at all, which is perfect.

You get 7g of each powder, so the palette itself is quite big and definitely worth the money. Unfortunately I'm unaware of the price, as I got it as a gift and Primark has no online shop (but when it does - goodbye all of my money!), but as it is from Primark's beauty range I cannot imagine it being too expensive. I would guess it would cost under £10, but this palette is actually very good quality, so I would personally pay up to £20 for it.

Have you tried any of Primark's makeup range?

The Liebster Award

I have been tagged by to do The Liebster Award by the lovely Mag from 'Forever Book Blog'. I was previously tagged before last year for this award, and I wrote a post for it, which you can read here if you want to get know me even more, but I thought that I would do an updated version as I'd love for my readers to feel like they know me like a friend.

What is the Liebster Award? The Liebstar Award was created to recognise, promote and welcome new bloggers to the blogging community.
What are the rules of the Liebstar Award? The rules are pretty simple:
* Thank the blogger who nominated you, including a link to their blog.
* Include the Liebstar Award sticker.
* Answer the 11 questions the blogger gives you.
* Nominate 11 other blogs who have less than 200 blog followers.
* Ask them 11 new questions.

Here are my answers to Mag's questions:

What's your favourite thing about the blogging community or blogging?
I love how interactive and inclusive most of the blogging community are, especially on Twitter! I wish I could take part more often, but I love following new bloggers and interacting in Twitter chats. Hopefully I will be able to meet up in real life with some of the bloggers I speak to soon!

Any memorable memory you created from blogging?
Only reaching little personal milestones like 500 Twitter followers and writing 100 blog posts - I haven't been to any 'events' yet but hopefully soon!

What made you start blogging?
I was, and still am, really into reading magazines, and other blogs, and watching Youtube videos. I decided to start my own blog mostly about makeup and beauty as I found that that was where my interests were, and I had so much to say but no one to say it to. I was considering starting my own Youtube channel, but I prefer the process of writing and photographing, and I would feel too self-conscious watching myself back over and over again to edit.

Who is your role model?
A role model of mine from the blogging community is definitely Victoria from Not only is she absolutely beautiful, but her Instagram is just perfection, her personality is flawless and I cannot fault her or her boyfriend Alex, who is essentially her personal photographer (goals!). She has a blog where she posts three times a week and a Youtube channel where she posts three times a week, so she is also incredibly hard-working and she does it all in the nicest way possible. I would love to meet her in real life and possibly even collab!

What is your passion?
I love all things makeup, and fashion. Other than that, I love my family and friends. I love having a big family and one of the hardest things about University was being four hours away from home, just as this meant weekend visits were expensive so didn't happen very often.

What do you wish?
My current goals are to get healthier, find happiness and to find my goal in life. Recently I have been trying to work out what I want to do career wise, and I just have too many options (which obviously is better than having not enough options!). Once I am healthier, I would also like to lose weight and get a proper fitness routine, but that is currently on pause.

Are you happy with who you are? Why?
I am happy with who I am personality wise. I like to think that I am a kind-hearted, generous person who has no prejudices and would help anyone. I am however not happy looks wise at the moment, but that is currently out of my control, so I am learning to deal with it.

What do you hope for?
As silly as this may sound, I hope that the world will become a better place, because recent events have been crazy and out of control, and they cannot continue.

Do you think society pressures you?
Yes, but only if you let it. I think there is a certain pressure to act a certain way, or particularly to look a certain way, but it is just as easy to ignore it as it is to succumb to it. However, I have the type of personality that succumbs to societal pressure, especially as I am obsessed with social media, which tends to reflect people's 'perfect' lives and not reality.

What are your future plans for your blog?
I have no plans set in stone, but I would love to keep posting at least twice a week, and for my blog to keep growing!

What's your least favourite aspect of the blogging community or blogging?
My least favourite would probably be how much I compare myself to other bloggers, who may have more followers, or more expensive products, or more opportunities. Blogging can incite jealousy, but I choose to celebrate others rather than get jealous.

I nominate:
*Abbey from
*Charlene from
*Juliet from
*Sophie from
*Shona from

June Favourites

Another month has passed, which means that another favourites post is to be written. Here is a little round up of things that I have been loving throughout June.

Denim Overall Dress - The background for my first photo is a dress that I have been loving this month. It is from Forever 21, which you can visit on their website here. It is a denim dress, designed to be worn with a t-shirt underneath. I have been loving it as it such a versatile piece of clothing - it can be worn without tights and a vest top for a warmer day, or paired with tights and a long sleeved top for colder days. It can be dressed up with heels, or can be worn more casual with converse. I love it, and think everyone should own a dress like it!

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Mattifying Toner - This month I have really stripped back my skin care routine and reviewed what I'm using. As I am currently going through chemotherapy, there are all sorts of drugs and things going through my body, so I am being extremely conscious of what I use. When my skin was going through a break out, I cleansed my face as normal to remove makeup and dirt, and then I just used this product twice a day (morning and evening) quite generously on a cotton pad over my face, and it cleared. I have actually used this whole bottle up now, and I will definitely be repurchasing it for the third time.

Urban Decay All Nighter Waterproof Long-Wear Liquid Foundation - This foundation has been my go-to for the past two months. Recently I have been loving applying it using a beauty sponge, which gives the foundation a more natural look and really allows it to set into the skin, so you can truly feel the long-lasting benefits. I mentioned this foundation in my recent 'Sweat-Proof Makeup Look' post, as I even wore it during the recent heatwaves we've been having in the UK, and it literally didn't budge all day. I would say it is a nice medium coverage when applied with a sponge, but alternatively it can be really built up to a full coverage if applied with a brush, which I do for nights out and thoroughly recommend.

The Balm Mary-Lou Manizer Highlighter - I have reverted back to my old faithful highlighter. This beautiful highlighter gives a blinding amount of light golden shine, which I love during summer to reflect the sun. This is not a highlighter for the faint hearted, once applied, you will glow.

Ted Baker and Essie 'A Cut Above' - I have been loving rose gold anything at the moment, especially on my nails. For a quick and easy manicure at home, I put a Ted Baker pale pink shade (name unknown as it came in a Christmas set) all over my nails, and then this gorgeous chunky pink glitter shade from Essie over the top.

As you can see, I have also been loving Ferrero Rocher's and hot chocolate. My mum recently bought a Tassimo machine, and I have become quite the hot chocolate connoisseur. I love hot chocolate, especially with the added toppings of marshmallows and whipped cream so I don't do them everyday, just every now and again as a little treat.

What have you been loving recently?

June Review and July Bucket List

Another month has passed, but luckily we are now in the more exciting six months of the year! We've got summer, Halloween and then Christmas - is it too early to be getting this excited already? Last month I wrote my first 'Bucket List' post, and I really enjoyed using the time to reflect whilst I was writing it, so I've decided to continue it on as a little series. Please feel free to leave your goals for your bucket list for the month too - I'd love to read them and help support each other!

June Review

 1) Re-learn the piano!

I started this one well by buying a new piano book, and I re-taught myself the chords and notes so that I was slightly faster at sight reading the correct notes, and I even learned the first song in the book but then it slipped to the back of my mind and I haven't practised now in a good two weeks. I definitely want to try and continue this into July, and potentially push myself to learn at least two more songs.

2) Write more blog posts!

I feel like I did succeed in this. I've re-discovered my love for my blog since finishing university for the year and I have really started putting more effort in. I ended up writing nine blog posts in June, which is how many I managed to produce for 2017 alone before that, so I am very pleased. Again, I am definitely going to try and keep posting twice a week for the foreseeable future, so leave me any suggestions of future blog posts you want to see!

3) Incorporate fashion in to my blog!

Other than my blog post about 'Two New Shoulder Bags', I have failed on the fashion front. I am currently taking a high dosage of steroids daily, and an unfortunate side effect of this is the fact that I never feel full, and so I have unfortunately gained weight, and so I currently have no interest in taking pictures of my body and putting it on my blog. However, I do still love fashion, so this goal is on the back burner until I get and feel better and more confident.

July Bucket List

1) Grow my social media accounts.

Recently I have been loving Twitter, especially the blogger chats, and the blogging community. I have recently hit 400 followers on both Twitter and Instagram, which I am quite proud of! I would love to put more effort in to these accounts and hopefully see more new followers in July too.

2) Cook.

When I was at university, I loved cooking my own food and being self-sufficient (except cleaning - ugh), but ever since coming home I have been so lazy and just let my mum cook for me. However, I want to get into cooking again and so I have brought out my cook books and I am ready to get inspired, so maybe I'll share my favourite recipes in a blog post soon?

I'll leave it at two goals for my July Bucket List, as I will still continue to re-learn the piano.

I just wanted to say a little paragraph at the end of this blog post to say thank you to anyone who has ever read, commented, or shared any of my blog posts - it means so much to me! This month has been the best month in my little blog's two year history! I hit 3,878 views this month, which is triple my second best monthly views, and I hit 15,000 total views! Lots of my blog posts have been receiving many comments, which I love and I always reply to! I hit a milestone and published my 100th blog post without even realising!  I've reached 18 Blogger followers and 26 Bloglovin followers which is crazy so thank you so much everyone!

As always, my links to my social media pages are on the right of this post, please feel free to follow me and talk to me via Twitter or Instagram, and follow me on Bloglovin to stay updated with my posts!
